From Psalm Sunday to Easter Sunday

Psalm Sunday (first day of the week)
- Left Bethany (home of Mary, Martha, Lazarus; its 1.7 mi from Jeru)
- Travelled 2 miles to Bethphage (suburb of Jerusalem)
- told disciple to obtain a small donkey
- Savior wept over Jerusalem (norm population 7-10k; holidays 25k)
- “Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour.” And an angel spake to him
- Great multitude had come out to greet him; spread palms (victory symbol) as he entered
- Shouted “Hosanna (Save, please; adoration) and called him “Savior”
- Gave discourse on the children of light
- In the evening he returned to Bethany with the twelve
Monday (the second day)
- He returned to Jerusalem (1.7 miles away) from Bethany
- Cursed the fig tree
- Cleansing of the temple (as he had done 3 years earlier)
- “the chief priests and the scribes and the chief of the people sought to destroy him.”
- However, the common people “were very attentive to hear him.” (Luke 19:47–48.)
- He went to Bethpage (suburb of Jeru) to lodge for the evening
Tuesday (the third day) and Wednesday (the fourth day)
- Travelled from Bethpage to the Temple Mount
- Questioned by temple hierarchy (by what authority- John from heaven? They answered not; neither did he answer)
- Questioned by the Herodians about tribute to Caesar; he said Render
- Questioned by Sadducces (denied resurrection, political and economic interest) – (woman married 7 times; he said in resurrection they are not given in marriage)
- Questioned by Pharisees (strict observance to written law to serve God, superior to others)- which is first commandment
- Taught his disciples the false teachings of the Pharisees & Scribes
- Pronounced the destruction of the temple (not one stone on top of another)
- Went to the Mount of Olives where he instructed his disciples (the elect) and gave last 3 parables: ten virgins, talents, inevitable judgement
- He returned to Bethany to spend the night
