- Man with 38-year infirmity healed; Bypassed by others receiving their healings. (John 5:1-9) (Note: How can you wait for a blessing when others around you have theirs?)
- The son does what he has seen the Father do (John 5:18-20) (Note: The father showed to the Son all things that the Father did)
- The dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God, and live. (John 5:25)
- Resurrection of life and of the damned; Dead will hear his voice. (John 5:28-29)
- Christ seeks not his own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent him. (John 5:30-32)
